Mediterranean Chicken Pita Pocket

Spice up your regular chicken sandwich or wrap with this pita pocket recipe! It is a quick and easy recipe that incorporates a variety of healthy food groups (wholegrains, veggies, protein, healthy fats and dairy). The dressing, chicken and salad components can also be made separately and kept for approx. 3-4 days. Throw the ingredients together each day and you've got a few days of lunches sorted!


  • 100g raw chicken breast, diced

  • 2 tsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp red wine vinegar or vinegar of choice

  • 1/2 tomato, diced

  • 1/8 red onion, diced

  • 1/5 large cucumber, diced

  • 20g reduced fat feta

  • Wholemeal pita

  • 1 tbsp low rat Greek yoghurt

  • ¼ lime, zested and juiced


  1. Heat half of the olive oil in a fry pan at medium to high heat.

  2. Add the diced chicken and cook until no longer pink on the inside. Leave to cool.

  3. Mix the yoghurt, lime zest and juice in a small bowl.

  4. In a separate small bowl whisk the red wine vinegar and the other half of the olive oil to make a vinaigrette.

  5. Add the cooled chicken, cucumber, tomato, red onion and feta in a large bowl. Add the vinaigrette and toss through.

  6. Fill the pita with the chicken mixture and drizzle with the lime Greek yoghurt.
